The location of the new St. Johns County K-8 School has been announced. The new school will be located adjacent to Nocatee’s Twenty Mile neighborhood and is scheduled to open its doors for the 2017-2018 school year.
This announcement marks the third school site donated by The PARC Group to the St. Johns County School District. Both Valley Ridge Academy and Ponte Vedra High School were built on land donated to the District by the developer.
“Education is an important cornerstone of the Nocatee lifestyle,” said Greg Barbour, Chief Operating Officer of The PARC Group, Nocatee’s master developer. “This new school reinforces that the Nocatee lifestyle incorporates all of its residents’ needs, from education to health, wellness, recreation, worship, employment, and more.”
The new school's location provides families with multiple access points, including Crosswater Parkway and Nocatee Parkway. The third access point will be a boardwalk from the south point of The Crossing at Twenty Mile neighborhood. The boardwalk will be pedestrian, bike, and electric-vehicle approved, and very convenient for many Nocatee residents.
Nocatee has seen tremendous growth since its establishment in 2007. Nocatee is now home to more than 4,500 families. Zoning for the school will be determined by the St. Johns County School District in Fall 2016, with many Nocatee residents expected to attend the new school.
